Same-Gender Couples Seminar
The Marriage Preparation Seminars for Same-Gender Couples presented by the United Church of Canada are designed to build on the abilities and gifts that couples bring to their decision to make a public commitment to each other, before God and a circle of witnesses. We provide helpful information and teach skills basic to a successful long-term relationship.
Although the seminars will be presented from a Christian perspective, reflective of the United Church ethos, they will be offered in a manner that is respectful of all faiths.
Skilled facilitators, same gender oriented, experienced in leading groups, will conduct the seminars. Handouts and worksheets will also guide discussion between partners during the seminar. The material each couple receives also provides an ongoing resource in maintaining a positive, resilient, committed relationship.
The 2010 Same-Gender seminar will take place on February 20th from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
